History

A little bit about The Music Room (aka the Boombox, aka MR 327) is in order.

Some of you knew him as David Bowie; some as Frankie Knuckles; some as Kurt Cobain; some as Rick James; some as Prince. Every now and then he dressed in drag and went as Dusty Springfield.

However you knew “him”, his spirit lives on here and some of his many records make up the top of there bar where you can belly up 6 nights a week and know that at the very least you are hearing something good to go with good libations.

Located in the heart of the Historic MLK district and part of the resurgent Edgewood Avenue entertainment hub, the award winning Music Room is a subterranean live music venue and dance club. Our weekly schedule rotates a selection of live music and DJs. With a serious focus on hospitality and service, the full bar provides a selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Our space also operates as an event facility capable of hosting up to 175 guests. In addition to the main space, upstairs you will find the Edgewood Speakeasy, a mixology cocktail bar, and also Bone Lick BBQ. For 2 years in a row (2015 & 2016) we have been recognized as Best of Atlanta by Creative Loafing.
